General Info
Training can take place at your home for your puppy, or completely virtual, over ZOOM.
All first-time clients begin with theiri first appointment over ZOOM, for 30 minutes, where we chat a bit, and you’re given 2-3 exercises to work before we meet in person. The remaining appointments are in-person at your home. There are also ZOOM-only appointment package - just ask!
My focus is helping puppies and young dogs acclimate to their new homes, and learn the basics of being a good family member.
Who We Help:
Puppies
Dogs with Separation Anxiety
Fearful/Shy/Reactive Dogs
Canine Fitness, from Puppies to Seniors
How it works:
In-person puppy and fitness appointments are scheduled weekly. This is important to keep progressing and take care of any issues as they arise and before they get established.
How long are the sessions? When are they?
In-person sessions are 60 minutes. Zoom sessions are one-half hour.
Can I transfer Zoom sessions to in-person sessions?
I’m sorry, my schedule just can’t accommodate that change, and it isn’t fair to everyone else who needs in-person assistance.
I can, however, use your in-person sessions as zoom sessions. If scheduling is an issue due to health, weather, or work issues, please contact me to transfer your in-person sessions to zoom sessions.
What if we can’t meet due to illness, weather, temperatures, or road conditions?
All in person appointments will transfer to ZOOM sessions. Temperatures under 40 degrees, or over 74 degrees, we will transfer to ZOOM. Road conditions - icy/snowy - will move to ZOOM.
What if I need more time with you?
We can do that with another in-person package, add-on appointments, or train over zoom!
Your Dog's Health:
Keeping everyone's pup healthy is important to you, other clients, and myself.
A negative fecal result is required at the first in-person appointment, or may be provided via emailing me prior to the first meeting a copy of results from the vet.
If your dog is ill or has an emergency, you are requested to let me know the nature of the illness/emergency, and the next session will be on hold and rescheduled as soon as the dog is healthy and/or has received veterinarian clearance to resume training. This includes intestinal parasites (roundworm, whipworm, hookworm, giardia and coccidia), Parvo, distemper, vomiting and diarrhea. A report from your veterinarian is required to resume training.
A healthy dog learns better than a dog that doesn’t feel well.
Some Common Issues We Help With:
Potty training Puppy mouthing Stealing items Barking
“Ignoring” their name Counter surfing
Come When Called Basic obedience
Can I drop my puppy off for training?
No. I don’t board or offer day training at my home, as I enjoy working with families and their puppies.
What about Covid?????
I am fully vaccinated and boostered. If anyone in your family is NOT, please have them mask. I carry hand sanitizer in my car, and a high quality spray disinfectant that protects against covid, and your puppy against viral disease.
I am also vaccinated yearly against influenza.
Do you offer Group classes? No - I am only offering private or semi-private appointments.
And what about a guarantee?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to give guarantees about training. Lack of practice, not using the techniques provided, as well as other considerations, prevent guarantees.
